Internet 'hot spot' site

The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), London’s prestigious purpose-built venue in the heart of Westminster, has upgraded its IT infrastructure and become an internet ‘hot spot’ providing clients with wireless internet access at broadband speeds.

The Centre is renowned for being an AV/IT intelligent building and one of its competitive advantages is its technology infrastructure. ‘Hot spot’ site development means the QEII stays at the forefront of IT developments and provides added value to clients and their delegates. Hotspotting for QEII Conference Centre clients means all users will have instant access to multimedia support.

Using SPARK™ Intelligent Access Point Management systems and MCI, the QEIICC’s broadband internet supplier, existing access points have been upgraded and configured for maximum flexibility for users. Clients can decide on bandwidth parameters, accessibility areas or whether to provide attendees with free access to their website and other online resources throughout the duration of the event. Alternatively, occasional users can make use of the facility by buying time segments from the Business Centre for unrestricted high bandwidth access.

As the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre, we insist on being at the forefront of new technology. We’ve chosen MCI as our current broadband provider because of their commitment to quality and the SPARK™ system because of its flexibility. Strategically, the hotspot solution will keep us ahead of the competition.
