The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre Appoints New Head of Sound

The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), London’s prestigious purpose-built venue in the heart of Westminster, has promoted Dan Cecchini to head of sound for Interface, the QEII Conference Centre’s in-house audio-visual department.

Dan Cecchini joined the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in May 2003 as an audio-visual technician, specialising in sound. In his new position, he will manage the resources of the audio department and on a daily basis will ensure that the correct technical equipment is allocated to each conference and event held at the Centre. In the long term, Dan will be responsible for implementing a five year digital audio network.

Derek Chalmers, QEII Conference Centre production manager, said: “I regard Dan’s appointment as pivotal in the development of our technical facilities. As a premier venue, his vision of a five-year analogue to digital audio network is intrinsic to our strategy of further developing our in-house audio-visual production facilities.
