“As the financial capital of Europe, London was the ideal venue for the show but we needed a central venue in the heart of the city. Although other venues of sufficient size were available, they did not feel like they were a real part of the city.”
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre’s (QEIICC) Jamie Ades has been elected onto the events committee of The Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA). Jamie’s involvement reflects the Centre’s continued commitment to develop and build relationships with UK agencies and work with them to deliver the right event solution for clients at The QEIICC.
The HBAA represents the collective interest of the parties involved in the procurement and management of conference, meetings and accommodation in the UK and internationally. Celebrating its second decade, the HBAA is recognised as the pre-eminent association and driving force of professionalism for the sector.
Comments Jamie: “I am pleased to have been elected onto the events committee of the HBAA and to have the opportunity to act at an advisory level and input ideas to contribute to the success of future HBAA events. The QEIICC has been a member of the HBAA for just over a year and has already formed good working relationships with agencies including Conference Care, NYS Corporate and Banks Sadler.”
Sue Etherington, acting commercial director at The QEIICC adds: “Jamie’s recent appointment onto the HBAA events committee will ensure The QEIICC continues to grow its relationship with agencies across the UK and strengthen our position in the agency market. Working in partnership will ensure The QEIICC continues to deliver the perfect event solution for HBAA clients.”
