The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), London’s most prestigious purpose built centre for professional meetings and events, has announced the appointment of Sue Etherington as acting commercial director, following the departure of Jonathan Byrne.
Sue has been promoted from the role of international sales manager, in which she has been responsible for winning new international business for the Centre for the last six years.
As acting commercial director, Sue will be responsible for delivering The QEIICC’s business strategy though increased revenue generation, focused yield management of all of the Centre’s facilities and services and consolidation of the product The QEIICC offers to its clients.
Sue has extensive knowledge of the corporate and MICE markets with a background spanning many years in the hotel and conference centre sector, including roles at Red Carnation Hotels, Eynsham Hall & Chewton Place and Grosvenor Hotel. She currently sits on the board of ICCA (UK and Ireland chapter) and was on the board of MPI (UK chapter) for two years until this year.
