The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre gets more than a paint job

During August, 150 workers laid over 2,500m2 of carpet at The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre and used over 300 gallons of paint to complete a refurbishment of the Centre’s third floor.

Unbelievably, around five miles of cabling was installed during the same period to further enhance the data and network services within the Centre.

The third floor of the Centre comprises the Benjamin Britten Lounge and the Whittle and Fleming Rooms which were redecorated to bring them to the same high standard as the recently completed fifth floor.

Around a quarter of a million pounds was invested in the refurbishment and, in addition, investment was also made in a new stage set for the ground floor Churchill Auditorium.

Situated in Westminster, opposite Westminster Abbey and in the shadow of Big Ben and the BA London Eye, the Centre specialises in handling groups of 40 to 1,000 in stylish, high-tech surroundings.

“We will continue with our investment programme and channel money into the most appropriate areas in accordance with the feedback given to us by customers”, commented Stephen Norcliffe, Commercial Director of the Centre.
