“The organisation of the reception, Fleming Room and Benjamin Britten Lounge was faultless as usual, and made the day work so well.”
The Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre (QEIICC), London’s premier purpose built conference centre, has surpassed its occupancy target for the year 2009/10. The Centre achieved an occupancy percentage of 65.3% against a target of 60%.
The Centre also achieved a turnover of £11.2million and recorded a net surplus of £2.6million – which is equivalent to an EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxation, depreciation and amortisation) of £3.3million for the year 2009/10.
Ernest Vincent, Chief Executive, QEIICC said: “Achieving our occupancy target confirms that our business is showing resilience as we pass through this difficult phase in the economy . This year has seen the Centre host 379 events – including being the venue of choice for the Iraq Inquiry which attracted almost daily media coverage. Our programme of capital expenditure for 2009/10 included renovating the ground floor foyer to give visitors a fresh, new and inviting feel upon entering the Centre – which proved to widely welcomed by our clients and their delegates.”
The QEIICC was also host to a number of notable events – including the Institute of Cancer Research’s Centenary Conference, press facilities for the G20 Finance Ministers meeting and the British Council Going Global 2010 Conference.
